If you don't make time to be healthy, you better make time to be sick. Or something to that effect...

I read that quote, worded probably a little more gracefully, while paging through a magazine at the doctor's office. I would love to give credit to the author, but I don't know who wrote it! ~~Anyway~~ So often, I don't think healthy people realize the gift they are given. Health. Hang on to it, respect it, and keep it for as long as you can.

Food~Glorious Food~~

In America we are bombarded by unhealthy food choices on a daily basis. Why do so many people succumb to these saboteurs of health? Is it the advertisements? Do we want to "have it our way" so badly that we are willing to ingest twice our caloric intake for the day? Is it the obscene amount of salt and flavor enhancers that fool people into believing that low quality garbage food is actually tasty? What is it?

Food is Fuel! Eat well. Respect yourself. Just because something is easy and convenient, does not make it right.

  1. I didn't know you had a blog! Fun. I read a quote the other day about people thinking they are saving money by buying cheap processed food and it was, "People think they are saving money but really they are just buying themselves a heart attack later in life." It was by Jillian Michaels, I thought it was a good one:)

  2. I LOVE that quote, Val. It is so true-and I wish more people would understand that food isn't only about finding the lowest price tag, and the most convenient preparation, it is about quality. Food is fuel. What is so inconvenient about an apple or a banana? Or almonds, or carrots? Food goes into your body! I wish people would read food labels the way they read medication labels/dosage directions. Cheap and processed foods are practically poison when eaten in large quantities. They wreak havoc on people's immune systems, hormones, and waistline. Eating is not about filling our stomachs. Eating is about fueling our systems for proper growth, energy, and concentration to get the most out of each day.
